After the outbreak of the Korean War, the UK helped pass the UN Security Council resolution to provide military aids by immediately agreeing with the proposal made by the United States. The UK sent the secondlargest number of soldiers to Korea and led the Korean War along with the United States as a core member of the UN Forces.
